We are recruiting a highly experienced Consultant Neurologist and experienced Neurosurgeon to deliver exceptional neurological care across a wide range of complex and specialist clinical presentations. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced diagnostic skills, leadership capability, and a commitment to patient safety and service excellence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with complex neurological conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Lead specialist clinics in general neurology and, where applicable, sub-specialty areas such as epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disease, or stroke.
- Collaborate with neurosurgery, neuroradiology, neuropsychology, and rehabilitation teams in multidisciplinary patient care.
- Supervise and mentor junior neurologists, registrars, and allied health professionals.
- Lead neurology governance activities including audit, mortality review, and quality improvement.
- Interpret and report neurophysiological studies and advanced neuroimaging in collaboration with neuroradiology.
- Participate in acute neurology on-call services including stroke thrombolysis and neurology emergencies.
- Lead or contribute to clinical trials, research, and academic publication activities.
- Develop and implement evidence-based clinical pathways and departmental protocols.
- Represent the department at institutional and external professional forums.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- MBBS or equivalent primary medical degree.
- Postgraduate specialist qualification in Neurology (e.g., MRCP with sub-specialty training, FAAN, FEAN, or international equivalent).
- Fellowship or specialist qualification in Neurosurgery (e.g., FRCS (Neurosurgery), FWACS, or international equivalent).
- Minimum of 15 years post-qualification clinical experience in a recognised neurology center.
- Proficiency in clinical neurophysiology interpretation (EEG, nerve conduction studies).
- Valid specialist registration with a recognised national or international medical regulatory body.
- Track record of clinical leadership, teaching, and research.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
- Sub-specialty training in Stroke Medicine, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, MS, or Neuromuscular Disease.
- Experience with advanced neuroimaging interpretation or neurophysiology.
- Involvement in academic neurology, clinical trials, or society leadership.
