Job Summary
This role is best suited for a consultant who has Strong clinical judgment and surgical proficiency. You will be responsible for providing expert clinical care in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders of the female reproductive system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough clinical evaluations, diagnostics, and management of gynaecological conditions.
- Perform surgical procedures including caesarean sections, hysterectomies, laparoscopies, and other routine and complex surgeries.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including pelvic exams, ultrasounds, biopsies, hysterectomies, and minimally invasive surgeries.
- Provide antenatal and postnatal care in collaboration with the obstetric team.
- Counsel patients on family planning, fertility, menopause, and reproductive health.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and contribute to clinical governance and audit processes.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals as part of the clinical team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship from the West African College of Surgeons (WACS), National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), or equivalent international board certification in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- Minimum of 5 years post-fellowship experience in a consultant capacity.
- Proven experience in both outpatient care and gynaecological surgery.
- Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) with valid practicing license.
