ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and IVF to lead and develop our Assisted Conception Unit. The successful candidate will deliver the full spectrum of fertility investigation and treatment, drive clinical quality, and provide compassionate care to patients navigating complex fertility challenges. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive fertility assessment, counselling, and treatment planning for individuals and couples presenting with subfertility.
- Perform and supervise all ART procedures including IVF, ICSI, embryo transfer, ovum donation, surrogacy coordination, and fertility preservation.
- Manage complex ovarian stimulation protocols and monitor for ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) prevention and treatment.
- Collaborate with the embryology team to ensure optimal laboratory outcomes and embryo quality.
- Lead fertility-related surgical procedures including hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and surgical sperm retrieval.
- Provide expert consultation for recurrent implantation failure, recurrent miscarriage, and premature ovarian insufficiency.
- Supervise and mentor junior fertility specialists, nurses, and embryologists.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards governing ART, including record-keeping and outcome reporting.
- Lead and contribute to fertility research, clinical trials, and academic publication.
- Drive continuous quality improvement, governance, and patient satisfaction in the ACU.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- MBBS or equivalent primary medical degree; FRCOG or equivalent Obstetrics & Gynaecology specialist qualification.
- Sub-specialty training or certification in Reproductive Medicine / IVF (e.g., CREI certification, ESHRE qualification, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to fertility and ART practice.
- Demonstrated competency in the full range of ART procedures and ovarian stimulation management.
- Valid specialist registration with a recognised national or international regulatory body.
- Experience managing a high-volume ART programme with robust outcome data.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
- Sub-specialty expertise in recurrent pregnancy loss, endocrine reproductive disorders, or fertility preservation oncology.
- Experience with PGT-A/PGT-M (preimplantation genetic testing).
- Academic involvement in reproductive medicine research, publications, or national guideline contribution.
